Senior Support Associate I (Warren County)
 

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for one (1) full-time Senior Support Associate I position to work at the Warren County Health Department. The minimum requirements are a high school diploma or GED and one year of moderately difficult business or public administrative experience in a medical, hospital or administrative office environment using electronic office equipment and professional software. Additional education (college, vocational school, etc.) in business education or a medically related field may substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis. Duties include medical records, receptionist, making appointments, patient screening, WIC, cashier duties, data entry, copying, and filing. Preference will also be given to applicants that are bilingual. Other duties as assigned. The minimum hourly rate is $11.14 with excellent benefits. You must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Travel will be required to other counties as needed after orientation and training is complete. Health Educator I

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Health Educator I to be based in Warren County, but will serve all 8 counties. The minimum requirements are a bachelor’s degree and one year of health related or education experience. A master’s degree or bachelor’s degree or a professional license in the health or human services fields will substitute for one year of experience required. Preference will also be given to applicants that are bilingual. The minimum hourly rate is $15.51 with excellent benefits. Employees are under probationary period for 6 months. Once the probationary period is completed, the employee's salary will increase 5%. This position will implement a variety of health education programs. Duties will include Maternal/Child health initiatives, tobacco prevention, cessation and policy development. This position will also conduct biometric screenings and health counseling for Kentucky Employee Health Plan (KEHP) members. Additionally, this position will assist with CPR/First Aid certifications for agency staff and community members. Other duties as assigned. Communication Specialist

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Communication Specialist to be based at the District office in Bowling Green, but will serve all 8 counties (Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Simpson and Warren).  The minimum hourly wage is $15.51.  A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, English or related field with one (1) year experience is required.  Master’s degree will substitute for the required experience. This position will assist the agency with internal and external communication efforts, develop agency publications, and assist with planning events, press conferences and seminars.  They will adhere to the agency’s branding and style guide, ensuring that they produce high-quality and error-free work (website and social media content, press releases, infographics, mailers, flyers, memos etc.).  The position will assist the Marketing and Communications Branch Supervisor to develop and implement communication and marketing strategies that include media outreach, social media, and web-based content.  They will collect data on the performance of campaigns and evaluate the results of communication campaigns with the marketing team.  This position will also assist agency leadership with the organization and management of grant funding in order to ensure that projects are completed, reporting deadlines are met and funds are spent accordingly.  This position will be responsible for creating and sending out the monthly newsletter to staff and external partners.  They will communicate regularly with media representatives to maintain positive relationships and arrange interviews, media statements and provide information under the guidelines of the Marketing and Communication Team Supervisor and/or District Public Health Director.  Other duties as assigned.

Community Outreach Worker

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Community Outreach Worker to work on the Communicable Disease Team to be based in Warren County, but will serve all 8 counties (Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Simpson and Warren). The minimum requirements The minimum requirement is a High School Diploma or GED and six (6) months experience in public health or in another position with the provision of social services, supportive services, personal care or related duties. Preference will also be given to applicants that are bilingual. The minimum hourly rate is $11.14 with excellent benefits. Employees are under probationary period for 6 months. Once the probationary period is completed, the employee's salary will increase 5%. Duties to include: home visits and medication administration for TB DOT patients, assisting nursing staff with client follow-up as assigned, assisting nursing staff in TB clinic, clerical duties, computer data entry, filing, and writing letters. Local Health Nurse I (Float)

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Local Health Nurse I position to work clinic in Logan, Simpson, Butler and Warren County. The minimum requirement is an Associate degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited college, university, or school of nursing. Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA). Preference will also be given to applicants that are bilingual.

Duties include clinical nursing for all clinical programs. Travel will be required to other counties as needed after training is complete. Other duties as assigned. The minimum hourly wage is $18.86 with excellent benefits. Employees are under probationary period for 6 months. Once the probationary period is completed, the employee's salary will increase 5%.

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Local Health Nurse I (grade 15) or LHNII (grade 18) position to work at the District office in Bowling Green as a Communicable Disease team member.  The minimum requirement is an Associate degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited college, university, or school of nursing.  Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA). Responsibilities include: TB investigation and control activities, TB direct observed therapies home visits; investigation and case management of patients with communicable diseases; care coordination and follow-up with local medical providers, state program consultants, and client family members; data collection and analysis; outreach; and other duties as assigned. Local Health Nurse I or II at District Office in Warren County

MNT Nutritionist I at District Office in Warren County

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time MNT Nutritionist I position. This position will be based in Bowling Green, but will serve all eight counties. The minimum hourly wage is $16.30, with excellent benefits. The minimum requirements include licensed dietitian (LD) status as provided by the Kentucky Board of Licensure and Certification as provided in KRS 310.021 or be certified as a Certified Nutritionist (CN) by the Kentucky State Board of Licensure and Certification as provided in KRS 310.031. Preference will be given to applicants who are Registered Dieticians (RD). This position will serve as a registered dietitian, primarily providing diabetes services. This employee will be responsible for providing group diabetes education services, one-on-one enhanced support, as needed, and MNT to people with diabetes. Local Health Nurse (Diabetes-Warren County)

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Local Health Nurse I (grade 15) position to work at the District office in Bowling Green for the Diabetes Prevention and Control Program. The minimum requirement is an Associate degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited college, university, or school of nursing. Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA).
The position will be responsible for writing the work plan, delivering services, ensuring benchmarks are met, and completing required reporting for the diabetes program. This position will need to have strong interpersonal skills. This position will routinely interact with community partners and participate in community coalitions throughout the service area to promote diabetes prevention and control services.
